Huron Valley-Sinai

I have started my new job at the hospital in the food service dept. I have been through two days of orientation and two days of actual work schedule. It's pretty easy work and decent pay. Everyone is pretty cool there. I'm sure I will like it, not just because it's easy, but because it will be fun there or so it seems. So far I have only been in the food runner position. Next week I will be assembling the meals. I was told it I think running was easy wait until I do the assembling line. I think this job will really work out in helping me return to school, the scheduling looks very flexible. I just need to bring in enough cash to cover living expenses, just like everybody else, right! I am definitely thinking of some type of medical field, not just because I work at a hospital now, because through my employment search there are tons of openings for people in the medical field. Truck drivers are also needed everywhere. I sure hope this works out for me. Next big thing I'm looking forward to is summer.

Mama Mia!

I am working a part-time cash job at Mama Mia's. I wash dishes there until I start my job at the hopital. On word describes the owners, their daughter and cook. INSANE! I thought I was on some kind of hidden camera deal. The cook was telling the female owner to F off and get out of her head. The female owner was yelling at the husband who was taking care of a banquet down stairs. The husband was yelling at the bus boy. The mother and daughter were arguing. Any question I asked the female owner her answer was always, "I don't know." Well she should know because she is the owner. She should have at least told me who would know the answer.
It wasn't just the yelling, but what the were yelling about and the language. They are all crazy there. I can't wait to tell them Im done.
I start my orientation on Monday and it runs through Tuesday. I will never forget the insanity of Mama Mia's.

Needling.

I will be starting a new job in a week or so at Huron Valley-Sinai. Before I can start I had to have a physical, drug screen, TB test and fill out paper work.
When it was time for the nurse to take blood, I hate needles by the way, she tried both arms and then had to draw it from my hand. I was given a TB,and tetanus shot as well. I had to deal with five needles, I hated that. The job is only contingent but I hope to work it into something full-time permanent. I have to go to DMC in Detroit on Monday for orientation and then another orientation/training session on Tuesday back at HVS, then I find out when I actually start in Food Services. Yeah.

My dog is broken

My dog Moose became sick a week ago. He would wake up in the morning and vomit. He did this 4 days in a row. On the fourth day I took him to the vet. I told the vet that Moose was going a little stir crazy because of the weather, he is not outside much because his paws get cold so fast and he cant walk, I end up having to pick him up and carry him inside. Because of this he had destroyed most of his toys and I believe he had ingested some of the pieces because I've seen him drop some toy stuffing out his backside when he does his business. So we thought it was the toy parts causing problems for him. The vet also ran a bunch of tests and took some x-rays. Vets also cost as much as people doctors. Ouch. We saw some stuff in his intestines and all his tests came out good so the vet put him on a bland diet. The food is some special blend by Purina or something like that. He was on the diest for a full week, then on Monday I fed him his normal food. Not a good idea, he woke up again Tuesday morning and vomited again. I called the vet once again and told them it was starting over again. The vet called me back and suggested I continue the bland diet for Moose. I went back to the vet and bought the special dog food for him this time I bought him only three cans of soft and a bag of dry. I don't like him eatting wet(can) food because it creates tarter on his teeth and dry food is so much easier to store and transport. The food he was previously eatting he had been eating it for more than six months. I hope it is just the food causing the problem and not someting serious.

The Can Opener

I finally bought a new can opener and I love it. The previous one was junk. It was a fight just to open a can and then it would not completely open the can lid. I would need a pair of pliers to rip it the rest of the way open, but the new one cuts like a knife through warm butter. Ahh the simple things is life a wonderful.
