Just mentioning.

Yesterday I received a letter from the Department of Labor & Economic Growth in regard to me filing for unemployment. (Let me flash back a few months..... I received a letter from DLEG saying I may qualify for for an extension of Unemployment benefits due to being underemployed. My current job at the hospital is contingent, meaning I get what I get. No set amount of hours until a part-time position opens for me. I filled out the form and sent it back. I had been approved for 24 weeks of benefits. It stated that even though I was working I might still qualify for partial benefits. If I made less than 1 1/2 times my approved weekly amount. I read that I should call MARVN even if I did not wish to claim a specific week. I would not loose that week but my weeks would roll over sort of speak. I called MARVN on my scheduled day and as I had already figured that I made to much for the weeks I was calling in for. I followed the prompts and when asked if I wanted to claim the weeks I called about I declined to claim them as I was instructed in the benefits booklet because I had made to much and I did not want to waste the weeks. I forget his exact response but he said I did not qualify and that I would have to reapply, good-bye. One thing MARVN makes clear is that if he don't say good-bye your call was not registered. Meaning no cliam is open so I will get bupkis, so I says to myself, well I don't really see myself qualifying for any benefits so I won't bother to apply because even though I don't make much I will make to much to get anything.
Back to the present. The newest letter says I falsified information by stating that I was laid off from a particular job and not that I had quit. Well I completely forgot about that one job and never put any info down because I was there for like a month and it just didn't register in my head. I need to reply to the letter and explain what I did, but how do I explain what I didn't do that they said I did do, and I never got anything in the first place? And my possible penalty: Discontinuation of benefits and/or paying back 2 times the amount of payment.
I do not receive any benefits and I'm not sending them a payment of $0.00 since that what 2 times 0 is.

Screw the Yankees

I've never rooted for the Yankees, they've had/have a few players I liked. Ricky Henderson, Reggie, Catfish, Pudge. But the thing I really do like is that they made a mistake and let Torre go. He only led them to the playoffs 12yrs in a row, 10 of those first place finishes, 2 wild cards, 6 World Series, 4 of those championships. Who wouldn't want a manager like him. Now it looks like he's going to take the Dodgers to the playoffs his first year and the Yanks sit at home. Awesome.

Lions lose to the QB who was their 3rd string QB last season and to last seasons offensive coordinator. SanFran has two wins,Lions zero. Last seasons 1 and 15 Dolphins have a win this season before the Lions. Ughhh. They can't lose next week because they have a bye. Finally a member of the Ford family speaks up and criticises Millen. Canning him now won't change this season but it would at least show that the Fords might want to win a game, maybe?

Looking for a new squad...

The Lions blow. Get Jimmy Jones for a GM or Bill Cowher. I am considering having a new favorite team. I would have chosen the Bengals but that team will never come to fruition because of players who've made bad decisions off the field. I'm considering Green Bay, Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia?

P.S. All college teams get your licks in now....UofM payback is coming in a few seasons.

The Detroit Lions D stopped the run with little effort. Their own run that is. By instantly giving up 21 first quarter points they had to give up on the run and go to the passing game to try and catch up. I think I am going to have to be a Vikings fan or something. I hope they can salvage the season, listen to me it's only been one game, hopfully Rudi can add a needed element.

A few weeks ago I had to take Moose to the vet because he had some mysterious blistery out break. The vet said Moose had hives. He probably was bitten by something and he had a reaction. She gave him a steroid shot and a benadryl shot and recommended that he take benadryl for three days. A few hours after the shots he was looking much better.
Then a few weeks later he was stung by a few bee's. He didn't cry or yelp when he was stung. I think it startled him more than anything. I was sitting outside at someones house and Moose came walking over all weird. I looked at him and saw he had something on his back. I got up to look and saw it was a bee. I went to brush the bee off and he turned his head real fast and banged it on a lawn chair, that hurt him because that's when he yelped. Well I knocked the bee off and had to crush it, because that's what you do with bee's that sting. I think he may have been stung three times his neck, back and leg. It knocked him for a loop and I didn't have any benadryl to give him. All his umph was gone, it jacked him up. He had trouble walking, so I laid him down on a blanket and he just sat for awhile and then laid down. We finally came home but then I had nothing to feed him that I could hide the benadryl in, plus I don't think he was really in the mood to eat, so he ruffed it til morning and then I gave him some peanut butter with the benadryl stashed in it. He was a little out of sorts until evening then he was back to normal. Poor Moose dog, for such a little guy he takes a beating.

I had a dream the other night. I was looking for Bob Saget and I was going to kick his ass. I have no idea what he did but that's what I was going to do.

I live next to the "Squidbillies" that's what I like to refer to them as. I got the name from an Adult Swim cartoon. They like to put swim trunks on their son and let him play in the puddles in the parking lot after it rains. Anytime that kid is outside I constantly hear them calling their son... "Griffin, Griffin, Griffin, Griffin, Griffin, Griffin, Griffin, Griffin, Griffin, because Griffin doesn't listen to them. I say whip his ass for not listening or take him back inside. Thankfully he only shows up every other weekend or so. Squidbillies like to stand in front of my door and smoke cigs, so I have to close my door to keep all the smoke from coming inside my apartment. It's doesn't click in their head as to why I close the door. Squidbillies like to turn up the music at 11 PM. Squidbillie dad likes to knock on his own door when he comes home to make his dog bark. Dumb ass. Squidbillies like to talk on the phone outside my door. I hate that, get away from my door or go back inside you den. Squidbillie daughter comes and visits daddybillie every so often, she's a teen, and a bunch of her friends come over and hang out on the sidewalk or constantly go up and down the stairs, in and out of the den until midnight, sometimes they huddle on the stairs and don't get the F@&$ out of the way when I use the stairs. Squidbillies talk loud when their outside no matter what time of day or night it is. The Squidbillies that live on the other side of me and behind me like to put their grills on the sidewalk when they grill so all the smoke and lighter fluid smell fills my apartment. Squidbillies store their crap under the apartment stairs so fellow billies can tell this is a billie friendly environment. Sqiudbillies like to crank up Kid Rock and sit on chairs in front of their apartment and play along on their guitar and say "well I'm getin better", no your not go back inside and smoke some meth. Sqidbillies gather for annual meetings in front of the laundry room and drink beer, smoke cigs and dope, talk very loud and laugh at stupid shit.

I need to get to someplace somewhat "normal" without Squidbillies. If you like Kid Rock you have some innner trash trying to come to the surface. Ok, so I'm prejudice against some people. I'll have to do a blog on Arab people some time.

Deport Todd Jones

The Tigers have a 500 record now. 40 wins and 40 loses with 82 games remaining and only 5 games out of first. Half the season is left so anything is possible.

Todd Jones tried to screw this up, he gave up 4 runs in the top of the ninth to give Colorado the lead and then was booed by the crowd of 42K plus. He deserved it though. The Tigs put two runners on base in the bottom of the ninth and Cabrera doubled and drove in the two runs for the win.

Sometimes there are players on Detroit teams that I just can't stand; when Federov was with the Wings, or the fist time Lindsey Hunter was with the Pistons I liked him when he came back because he knew his role, Harrington with the dreadful Lions and now I absolutely loath Todd Jones. No lead is secure with him pitching. I want him deported. I think he's American though but still we could send him to America Jr. or something.

This morning I took Moose outside to go potty, yes I said "potty", and my car had a flat tire. I had to change a tire at 6 A.M. I missed an hour of work, that sucked more than anything.

NY Times: Israel conducts drill simulating IAF strike on Iran

Israel has conducted a drill simulating an attack on facilities in Iran, The New York Times reported Friday.

Senior American officials, who preferred to remain unnamed, told the paper that the exercise included 100 F-15 and F-16 warplanes which have undertaken maneuvers in the eastern Mediterranean and near the coasts of Greece.

Helicopters also joined in the maneuvers, simulating forays into enemy territory to rescue downed pilots.

The aircraft used in the drill flew a distance of about 1,500 kilometers - similar to the distance between Israel and uranium enrichment facilities at Natanz, the officials said.

IDF officials reportedly refused to comment on the exercise and its purpose.

Six Straight.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- The Detroit Pistons made just enough shots and stops to advance to the Eastern Conference finals for a sixth straight year.

Richard Hamilton scored 19 of his 31 points in the first half, made victory-sealing free throws late in the game and Tayshaun Prince had a key block, helping Detroit hold off the Orlando Magic for a 91-86 win Tuesday night in Game 5 of the second-round series.

"Playing in six straight is awesome, but now we expect to do this," Hamilton said. "We're supposed to be here."

The Pistons will have a break before facing the Boston Celtics or Cleveland Cavaliers in the conference finals.

Detroit made just 36 percent of its shots and allowed the Magic to make nearly half of their attempts, but made up for the disparity at the line and by taking care of the ball.

The Pistons were 28-of-32 at the line and had just three turnovers -- setting an NBA playoff record for the fewest giveaways in a game -- while Orlando was 16-of-28 and had a playoff-high 21 turnovers, which turned into 34 points for Detroit.

"The fact that the game is close at the end when you look at the free throw shooting and turnover disparity is remarkable," Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy said.

To the Magic's credit, they didn't go away easily against a playoff-tested team that improved to 15-3 when it has a chance to advance since 2003.

Detroit led by 10 late, but was ahead 85-84 with just under a minute left after Hedo Turkoglu made back-to-back shots.

The Pistons won when Hamilton made two key free throws, Prince blocked Turkoglu's dunk attempt, and Hamilton made two more at the line in the last 20 seconds of the game.

Playing without All-Star point guard Chauncey Billups for the second straight game because of a strained hamstring, rookie Rodney Stuckey filled the void with 15 points, six assists and no turnovers.

"I'm never scared," Stuckey said.

Antonio McDyess had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Rasheed Wallace had 14 points and Prince added 10.

Turkoglu had 18 points and nine rebounds, and Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis and Jameer Nelson had 14 points apiece for the Magic. Nelson had guaranteed his team would extend the series with a win.

"We played them tough," Nelson said. "If there's anyone in their locker room who didn't think this was tough, they don't know what tough is."

Howard also had 17 rebounds and three blocks, but his night was marred by going 6-of-15 at the line.

Orlando was in the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 1996.

The Magic scored the last seven points of the first quarter to make it 20-all in what had to be a frustrating score for them.

They allowed Detroit to score all but two of its points off turnovers and offensive rebounds.

Lewis had as many missed shots (four) as turnovers in a scoreless first, but each of the other starters scored at least four points to make up for the awful start from the team's leading scorer.

When Lewis finally scored midway through the second quarter, his hook capped a 10-2 run that put Orlando ahead 33-27.

Detroit then went on a 16-3 run, and took a 47-41 lead into halftime.

The Pistons enjoyed quite an advantage at the line.

Hamilton made all 10 of his free throws before intermission and Detroit missed only one of 14 attempts while Howard was 6-of-13 to sink Orlando's total to 7-of-16 in the first half.

The Magic carried a 68-65 lead into the final period but struggled at the start of the fourth. After Lewis made two free throws in the opening seconds, Orlando went scoreless for nearly 7 minutes as the Pistons went ahead on Stuckey's steal and layup during a McDyess-led 13-0 run that put them ahead 78-70.

The Magic still wouldn't go away until fading in the final seconds.

"It's good to get this over with," Detroit coach Flip Saunders said. "Now we get a chance to rest, especially Chauncey, and we get a chance to prepare."
