To have a job or not to have a job...

DMC is needs to trim some 20 million off the budget. The two main items, 420 layoffs or a one year pay freeze? One or the other. Then there are a couple of more things that need to be altered. Like Lower the matching retirement contribution by 1/2 percent or a two percent wage decrease or forfeit 16 hours of vacation time.
They do say we are doing better than all the other hospitals in the SE Michigan? September is when the changes will take effect. I guess I should get a resume ready?

End of times.

Real signs or not? I would like to think so.

Moose on the loose

Moose has been to the vet a few times the last few weeks. Once for a annual check up, he's a little chubby. Vet recommended a weight of 14lbs, he's currently 16lbs. Other than that he's tip top.

Two weeks later he had some gunk in his eye. It happened on Saturday stayed the same on Sunday but Vet not open. Took him in on Monday and Vet said he has conjunctivitis, caused by bacteria. Prescribed some eye drops, looks much better after on two days of drops. He gets the drops for a total of 7 days. Way less gunk and pretty much eye is back to normal color.

BTW a trip to the Vet is costly. But gotta take care of weeny dog.

Mexican Radio

I have had my current car for about two years now. It has not had a radio in it. It was missing the face plate. Last week I bought a face place for it off of ebay. I got it in the mail on Monday. It is so weird hearing music in my car again. There are so many songs are new to me because I've been with out for a while.

Never eat pickles when your have to run around like a chicken with your head cut off.

Let's just kick Mike Vick some more? He just did time in prison. Now lets let him sign with a team but we'll surprise you as to when he can play? Yep he lied, then he got found out then he was convicted. Quite piliing on the guy the courts set his punishment he did it now leave him alone. If he screws up agian he is the one who has to suffer.

Ok I am kinda looking forward to seeing the Lions. How bad will they suck? Will Stafford be good? I already want to draft my FF team.

Brett please make a decision? I am so sick of the Brett watch.

MJ

Michael Jackson dead at 50? Holy Crap. At one time he was the man. Now he's gone, he had some hard core personal demons. I owned the Thriller Album, what did I do with that?

NBA Draft

Pistons should take Hansbrough, if he's not there Evans or Maynor. Joe needs to make some amends for the whole Darko fiasco. When you watch the Nuggets that is what should have been. Chauncy and Mello in Piston uniforms. Yes, it was time for Chauncy to go but had Joe drafted Mello the Pistons would still be contenders. JMO

Full Retard

Why can't there be some overwhelming #1 in this draft?
It's so easy to be cynical with the Lions. IMO the Lions blew this draft. Not real thrilled with Stafford. They take a TE as their other first round pick. How about a lineman who can block. In the 2nd rd they take a CB. How about a LB you dorks. Lions need some beef that can dominate. Payton, Brady, have some beef that can protect them and let them do their thing. I don't care who you have if they don't have beefers who can play you plain old will suck.
Lions went full retard years ago ............................

How in the world did everyone buy into Sanchez? All that hype, he owes a big thanks to his PR people and ESPN. It's now being reported that Sanchez will be elected to the Hall of Fame before the Jets first game?

What I like to call - How the Spartans are the real national champs or I have nothing else worth thnking or writing about.

I know this game has been over for quite some time now, but what I say is still true.
The final score was UNC 89 State 72. State had 21 turn overs and UNC scored 25 points as a result of those turnovers. Ok now if you subtract those 25 points then that puts UNC at 64 points. Just listen ok. Now if you you reduced the turnovers by half, 10.5 round up to 11 so by that rational you say they would have only scored half of the 25 points, 12.5 round up 13 points. Add the 13 to 64 giving UNC a final score of 77. Ok that 77 would still be higher than what State actually scored but if you also gave half of their turnovers back as possessions which we will give as 10 rounding down. If of those 10 possessions they shot 40% that would have added 8 points to the Sparties final score giving us 80 points. Therefore to surmise the alternate outcome, Sparties 80 UNC 77. Sparties are the rightful national champions.
Thank you.

Dude I'm so wasted...

This commercial just makes me think this guy is stoned out of his mind...
However I think this would make a sweet ring tone.

Just mentioning.

Yesterday I received a letter from the Department of Labor & Economic Growth in regard to me filing for unemployment. (Let me flash back a few months..... I received a letter from DLEG saying I may qualify for for an extension of Unemployment benefits due to being underemployed. My current job at the hospital is contingent, meaning I get what I get. No set amount of hours until a part-time position opens for me. I filled out the form and sent it back. I had been approved for 24 weeks of benefits. It stated that even though I was working I might still qualify for partial benefits. If I made less than 1 1/2 times my approved weekly amount. I read that I should call MARVN even if I did not wish to claim a specific week. I would not loose that week but my weeks would roll over sort of speak. I called MARVN on my scheduled day and as I had already figured that I made to much for the weeks I was calling in for. I followed the prompts and when asked if I wanted to claim the weeks I called about I declined to claim them as I was instructed in the benefits booklet because I had made to much and I did not want to waste the weeks. I forget his exact response but he said I did not qualify and that I would have to reapply, good-bye. One thing MARVN makes clear is that if he don't say good-bye your call was not registered. Meaning no cliam is open so I will get bupkis, so I says to myself, well I don't really see myself qualifying for any benefits so I won't bother to apply because even though I don't make much I will make to much to get anything.
Back to the present. The newest letter says I falsified information by stating that I was laid off from a particular job and not that I had quit. Well I completely forgot about that one job and never put any info down because I was there for like a month and it just didn't register in my head. I need to reply to the letter and explain what I did, but how do I explain what I didn't do that they said I did do, and I never got anything in the first place? And my possible penalty: Discontinuation of benefits and/or paying back 2 times the amount of payment.
I do not receive any benefits and I'm not sending them a payment of $0.00 since that what 2 times 0 is.

Dub yuh

Thanks for the memories Dub yuh...

Let's see how this works? The Pistons needed an aggressive scorer. Chauncey's time was up here he hit his peak and we needed more, they did resign Rip. Looks like the Pistons are going to have a lot of money to work with.

Ripped from an ESPN article - Those who have been observing the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets and New York Knicks, among others, maneuver to create salary-cap space already have heard about "the Summer of LeBron." That's 2010, the year that LeBron James can opt out of his contract with the Cavs.
But the off season of 2010 is not just the Summer of LeBron: It's also the Summer of Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Ray Allen, Tyson Chandler, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Redd, each of whom can become an unrestricted free agent in 2010.
And in 2009, the list is illustrious, too: Kobe Bryant, Carlos Boozer, Allen Iverson, Ron Artest, Richard Hamilton, Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion, Andre Miller, Lamar Odom and Rasheed Wallace can become unrestricted free agents next year.

Screw the Yankees

I've never rooted for the Yankees, they've had/have a few players I liked. Ricky Henderson, Reggie, Catfish, Pudge. But the thing I really do like is that they made a mistake and let Torre go. He only led them to the playoffs 12yrs in a row, 10 of those first place finishes, 2 wild cards, 6 World Series, 4 of those championships. Who wouldn't want a manager like him. Now it looks like he's going to take the Dodgers to the playoffs his first year and the Yanks sit at home. Awesome.

Ofur

Lions lose to the QB who was their 3rd string QB last season and to last seasons offensive coordinator. SanFran has two wins,Lions zero. Last seasons 1 and 15 Dolphins have a win this season before the Lions. Ughhh. They can't lose next week because they have a bye. Finally a member of the Ford family speaks up and criticises Millen. Canning him now won't change this season but it would at least show that the Fords might want to win a game, maybe?

Looking for a new squad...

The Lions blow. Get Jimmy Jones for a GM or Bill Cowher. I am considering having a new favorite team. I would have chosen the Bengals but that team will never come to fruition because of players who've made bad decisions off the field. I'm considering Green Bay, Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia?

P.S. All college teams get your licks in now....UofM payback is coming in a few seasons.

Whack, Bam, Boom, Doink

CERN fires up new atom smasher to near Big Bang

CERN

Run stoppers

The Detroit Lions D stopped the run with little effort. Their own run that is. By instantly giving up 21 first quarter points they had to give up on the run and go to the passing game to try and catch up. I think I am going to have to be a Vikings fan or something. I hope they can salvage the season, listen to me it's only been one game, hopfully Rudi can add a needed element.

can't keep a good dog down.

A few weeks ago I had to take Moose to the vet because he had some mysterious blistery out break. The vet said Moose had hives. He probably was bitten by something and he had a reaction. She gave him a steroid shot and a benadryl shot and recommended that he take benadryl for three days. A few hours after the shots he was looking much better.
Then a few weeks later he was stung by a few bee's. He didn't cry or yelp when he was stung. I think it startled him more than anything. I was sitting outside at someones house and Moose came walking over all weird. I looked at him and saw he had something on his back. I got up to look and saw it was a bee. I went to brush the bee off and he turned his head real fast and banged it on a lawn chair, that hurt him because that's when he yelped. Well I knocked the bee off and had to crush it, because that's what you do with bee's that sting. I think he may have been stung three times his neck, back and leg. It knocked him for a loop and I didn't have any benadryl to give him. All his umph was gone, it jacked him up. He had trouble walking, so I laid him down on a blanket and he just sat for awhile and then laid down. We finally came home but then I had nothing to feed him that I could hide the benadryl in, plus I don't think he was really in the mood to eat, so he ruffed it til morning and then I gave him some peanut butter with the benadryl stashed in it. He was a little out of sorts until evening then he was back to normal. Poor Moose dog, for such a little guy he takes a beating.
